Lead Frontend Engineer

To join our team in Belgrade as an exceptionally skilled Frontend Web Engineer with a solid technical background and leadership skills and help us make a difference. Someone who is able to work in a fast-paced environment primarily using the latest frontend development practices.

Frontend Engineers play a significant role in our engineering team, developing the user-facing applications for company's websites, functional, and mobile web applications.

 Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate openly in an Agile Software Development environment with other members of engineering and User Experience disciplines, including Backend Engineers, Full-Stack Engineers, QA, Interaction and Creative Designers, as well as Project Managers. 
  • Participate in our UI development processes by establishing and documenting development standards and common components for common usage across all of our web applications.
  • Be responsible for the underlying architecture for the software program
  • Overseeing the work being done by any other software engineers working on the project.
  • Act as a mentor for new or lower-level software developers or programmers, as well as for all the members on the development team
  • Serve as an interface between the programmers and management,
  • Have ownership of development plans and have supervisorial responsibilities in delegating work and ensuring that software projects come in on time and under budget
  • Serve as technical advisers to management and provide programming perspective on requirements
  • Report to a manager with overall project or section responsibility, such as a director or product unit manager (PUM)

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years in front-end development
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work well in a team, project management, and technical leadership experience
  • You are enthusiastic about constantly evolving the world of front-end web technologies.
  • You understand how to support the range of browsers and devices that people may be using
  • You have expert skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript writing standards-compliant code from scratch as well as MVC concepts.
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Proficient in testing the front-end code for supported browsers and devices
  • Proficient demonstrated experience in incorporating reliable unit and end-to-end testing to UI frameworks
  • Proficient in JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Proficient in HTML5 / CSS3
  • Proficient with JavaScript front-end frameworks React.js / AngularJS / Vue.js / Ember.js
  • Proficient working in an Agile Software Development environment
  • Familiar with languages such as Java/C#, Python and Ruby

Nice to have:

  • Experience on a team lead level
  • Portfolio of work showing experience developing standards-compliant front-end code for the product and/or marketing websites, web applications, and/or mobile experiences.
  • Production experience with Node.js
  • Production experience with React.js
  • Production experience with a functional programming pattern or language
  • Production experience with AWS
  • UX skills in Interaction Design and Visual Design
